Why marriage is irrelevant

Marriage is basically another label which people use. It has different meanings to different people but I don’t attach any specific meaning to it. In a lot of cases, it means a form of slavery where some woman is owned by a man. She loses her last name and then is basically supposed to submit to the man. There is also some new thing people talk about called gay marriage. I’m sure that it will work out better than traditional marriage since people aren’t forced into a hierarchy based on their genitals.

I am quite confused as to the motivation people have to get married. I think that it needs better definition. Such details of what marriage is will vary among different locations and the beliefs of the people there. I think it is irrelevant but I admit I am quite biased, being single.

I think that marriage, like any other label is just a name for a certain type of relationship. A person does not need to call their connection by any certain label, but if you need one, you can always say “relevant”.

I have unusual thoughts on almost every subject. I am as Pro-Life as I can possibly be. I am strongly opposed to violence of any type. That includes rape, war, and (obviously) abortion. Everything I think, speak, and write must be filtered by the effect it could have on the lives of others. If I am in any way promoting violence accidentally, please let me know.
