Why war is irrelevant

I do not see any benefit that has ever come from war. It seems to me that it makes little sense for countries to have a military. A lot of money is spent on producing weapons, then to train people to use those weapons to kill. To justify the money being spent, someone needs to make up excuses to start a war. After all, without a war, the weapons and soldiers become irrelevant. Peace has never been the end result of any war. All that results is people who are dead, injured, and grieving over those who they have lost. Even if there was some type of benefit to a war, could not the same amount of money spent on it be used to do something positive, such as education, providing food and water for the poor, or maybe building homes which are strong enough to survive a tornado?

I have unusual thoughts on almost every subject. I am as Pro-Life as I can possibly be. I am strongly opposed to violence of any type. That includes rape, war, and (obviously) abortion. Everything I think, speak, and write must be filtered by the effect it could have on the lives of others. If I am in any way promoting violence accidentally, please let me know.
