Why courage is relevant

I sometimes disagree with the definitions given in dictionaries for the word “courage”. Courage is not pretending that you are not afraid. It is not an antonym of fear or an absence of fear.

Courage can mean many things. I think that courage is a reason for doing something. Courage is the thing that happens when your desire to do something becomes more powerful than any fears that would otherwise prevent you from doing it.

Courage is telling what you believe to be true, no matter who disagrees. Courage is doing what you can to protect others from harm even if it could cause harm to yourself. Courage is choosing what you will do even when you are told that it is impossible. Courage can be defined as anything that you want it to be. When you are motivated toward any goal that is relevant to you, it will take a lot more than fear to stop you.

I have unusual thoughts on almost every subject. I am as Pro-Life as I can possibly be. I am strongly opposed to violence of any type. That includes rape, war, and (obviously) abortion. Everything I think, speak, and write must be filtered by the effect it could have on the lives of others. If I am in any way promoting violence accidentally, please let me know.
